Cyclones rarely hit Cairns because of the mountain range behind it - they tend to bounce off the range and hit areas of leasser resistance. Cooktown is far more vulnerable and more likely to incure a cyclonic event heading our way
Time will tell - it could all turn back to sea and die a rainy death
We do need good rain up here so a cyclone up north is not that unwelcome
