Go back to the week before the AGM . The market was flat , trading down around 35 cents. The next week the market had moved north , toped at 47 cents from memory. We now know shorts were buying. I would say that shares were called back from lenders as a entittlement offer was been constructed. Talk about mist oppotunities, a regular CR and they would have had all they needed at 30 cents.
But the real value in the CR and the way it was constructed is not in the dollars now in the bank , its in the comparison between were we are now and what would have hapened .
This took place when there was prodictable very large volume of sellers due to the index rebalance. Shorts provented a SP drop over the cliff.
