I think the ASX clearly had a word with management and told them the correct order of releasing price sensitive news.
government or not, the ASX official release is the gate they need to wait for before they let the horse bolt.
not surprised we haven’t heard anything yet, this is how it should be. Last time round was the anomaly.
in terms of oil, I would have thought the deeper the got into the LA, the more likely they would come across it.
though the system is very complex and don’t think even management know with any certainty they pinology they are dealing with.
so any oil at the top of that LA would be a little surprise to me, and given where they called TD… it would in my view have been driven by escalating gas readings which they didn’t want to drill further into at the risk of instability.
if they didn’t come across strong gas shows, they wouldn’t have called TD at this depth. So a gas Discovery is highly likely IMO. Oil, more likely when they go deeper early next year with 6”
