Correct me if I'm wrong but maybe Sharaz wasn't "on the scene" at the time of the alleged offence. I think I heard someone mention that during the trial. If so any evidence that he could give would probably relate to the reporting and speeches where the second respondents are relying on a fallback defence of public interest in the telling of the story. Trying to refute the allegations from the complainant that they didn't practice due diligence during their investigations and gave insufficient chance for the alleged perp to respond.
