It's actually a half pip between a single broker like Commsec.
When someone places a trade to sell 'at market' and someone using the same platform places a trade to buy 'at market', if the price is say 57.5c on the buy and 58.0c on the sell, they meet in the middle to complete the trade to be fair to both of their users equally, so the trade goes through at 57.75c (and most platforms round to the nearest decimal so you see 57.8c).
