"As long as people FEAR DEATH and crave a promised afterlife, religions will thrive and prosper, especially financially with their tax free havens to hide behind."

I personally empathise with this sentiment.

A repetitive theme in this thread is that of Glazzy, who keeps asserting others "cannot understand".

I already pointed out, Glazzy does not understand the nature of 'ego' yet Glazzy wishes to assert the natural principle is about 'ego'.

The natural principle is inherently free from ego because it recognises all things are merely natural phenomena. Where all things are merely natural phenomena, there is no place for ego (apart from 'ego' being a mental function, just like memory or cognition is a mental function).

To the contrary, the theistic principle is inherently about ego. First, an ego which creates the universe and secondly, an ego or eternal soul which lives forever.

Please, let us as least have a factual discussion rather than play word games.

Theistic religions exist to provide a refuge for human beings whose minds cannot see beyond ego.
