I am not sure how the vote will go but I think if shareholders, who collectively own over 75 % of the shares, decide to back the deal than I personally would not have a problem with accepting the result. It is their choice and you would expect the 20 largest shareholders to do their own due dilligence. If it was only 50 % of the shares and the vast majority of shareholders voted against the deal than I might think differently. But as others have pointed out there are two specific rules: 75 % or more of the shares and 50 % or more percent of the voters.
Whatever happens I will stay invested. But I would not be surprised to see some volatility tomorrow for me or today for the folks in Australia.
