    during the period of the Howard Govt,real spending by the state on Education went from 50% to 55% and the contribution by the Howard Govt went from 50% to 45%.A long held convention where spending on education is split 50/50 between the Feds and state was broken by the Howard Govt.This includes GST.

    During the election campaign when the coalition presented their costings,hidden deep were cuts to education....ref below

    The response from educators,including the Chancellor of Sydney University was unprecedented.

    They talk up health,education and infastructure,but when you look at what they actually did you see a decade of cutbacks.A boom period was wasted by pork barrelling at elections and silly giveaways and always political sweateners or some idelogical ferfies (offshore processing)

    Tony Abbott needs to unlearn all tought to him by John Howard.Being a leader is more than being a great politician.John Howard may have been a good politician,he was however a dreadful leader and the liberal party need to change.
