The verse has ZERO to do with Jesus becoming flesh, human as per the Mary event, we know all that from the Gospels, hence John is not repeating it.
1:14 is speaking in the context, this one to become, is already in existence, out of the picture (1:14) in the literal sense, behind the scenes and I would say, getting the final preparations by the Father, before he meets John the Baptist, which is when Jesus first literally enters John and soon after goes to the Temple as per Mal 3:1.
No such thing in there and the word became flesh or the word was made flesh.
The language is, the word flesh to become and the to become IS - and encamp in I...........
