Some people dont understand the nature of the Tiwi Islanders claim.

The disputed claimed area is now underwater.

Munkara argues the pipeline poses a significant new impact or risk to Tiwi underwater cultural heritage that was not assessed in Santos’s original environment plan for the pipeline approved by Nopsema.

Some scoff at this claim, however if we look at a map during the last ice age, the ancient land mass of Australasia is called Sahul and the land mass comprising of the modern day Indonesian archipeligo, named Sunda. The land in the Timor sea, now underwater, was land above water when the first Homo Sapiens migrated via Sunda and then Sahul.

I dont think the same claim can be made for the East Coast.

This all theory and supposition.

This is interesting though, as the data does indicate that the first Homo Sapiens arrived circa 60,000 years ago and probably not 80,000 plus years ago.
