Couldn't connect to your other post, but I found this rather odd.
the Word was a god. This makes no sense, is this from the Jehovah Witness Bible?
Even if the Word is Jesus it is still correct of John to say "the Word was God", because Jesus here is receiving the full imprimatur of God as His Word, while not implying that a Trinity is a literal reality.
Jesus would never be referred to by a lower case g for god for any reason. John used correct punctuation rather than saying that God was the Word.
You need to have a chat with whomever makes this stuff up and put them right, they don't seem to have a clue.
