Key Responsibilities:
- Rapidly acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the nanomaterial production procedures, equipment, and safety
- Synthesise and characterise nanomaterials consistent to set manufacturing processes when required.
- Practice the safe handling of materials and operating systems in accordance with company OHS policies and SOPs within a safety-first mindset.
- Meet and report on prescribed production yield and quality targets.
- Interpret and participate in discussions over production results, prepare reports as required, and make suggestions for improvement.
- Suggest and develop streamlined production processes, including design & selection of new equipment and automation systems to further improve the production process to reduce cost whilst maintaining safety.
- Source and acquire relevant information from Australian and ISO standards, MSDS’s, and OHS documents to compliment engineering design and compliance.
- Implement engineering processes for all new equipment from concept and design, testing and optimization, through to commissioning and ensuring routine maintenance schedules are established and adhered to.
- Test and validate engineering design, through various means in house and via third party consultants.
- Create and collate document packages to verify and validate engineering design.
- Perform technical duties, including machining, welding, and fabrication, to assist in maintenance, modifications, and design.
- Interact and liaise with third party contractors, suppliers, engineers, and industrial professionals.
- Practice continuous improvement and further training in engineering, OHS, production, and operations in relation to nanomaterials production activities.
