    I get your point and fully agree that nuclear energy is inevitable for Aus. but it will require very heavy subsidisation to make nuclear energy affordable for domestic consumption.

    the CSIRO report, which I encourage you to read, shows the LCOE shows SMRs are too expensive at this time and expected that the cost will rise toward 2030. rEnewable energy by contrast is much less expensive. - the cheaper form of energy and storage available today.

    but in due course of development and availability SMR costs will fall, prob after 2040, and become less expensive. at present though no SMRs are in fact "modular" as all current projects are bespoke and are efforts to find the best modular model.

    how are the 3 plants that are fully completed in Russia and China faring?
