Labor are in a bit of a quandry.

Thye were elected last time with Kev 07 being the economic conservative and being a 'me too' conseravtive party.
That approach has lost its lustre and I think they will actually switch back more left and align themselves with green policy more often than previous. Being the chameleons that they have been, their ability to change colour and direction is unquestionable.
Whether the electorate see that as being flexible and adaptable to constant change is a spin they will need to produce imo.

Personally I would prefer a compassionate right to a conservative left and I am not actually that unhappy if labor go back to their roots as a socialist party.
When the greed of the born to rules get out of hand it is good to have a choice that is different to what has been on offer.

Even as a (mostly) liberal voter it is good that the people can still slap down arrogance like what happened with Howard.
Labor did it with Rudd yet one of the most arrogant politicians made tremendous changes and improvements in Victoria and that was Jeff Kennet.
I guess sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

A lot of the green policies worry me however a coalition with labor may see both parties actually compromise to get a good balance.

I think we need to be optimistic that no matter who gets in we can still be a productive and free thinking nation.
Libs or Labor, we know one thing for certain....there will be stuff ups along the way and some people will get hurt in the process.
