I have already read that CSIRO report Scott and have some reservations about its accuracy. However, although nuclear at this stage is very expensive, so are renewables in many ways, not just in monetary terms but also environmentally as can be seen by the growing objection to the farmland disturbance and also the massive mineral mining/pollution required to extract the enormous quantities of minerals for batteries, windmills and the eventual associated costs of landfill or disposal.
There are a myriad of problems associated with so called renewables, which in practicality is somewhat of a misnomer for the above reasons.
As I have said many times I am not opposed to renewables per se. I am simply advocating for a current responsible enquiry into the practicality of nuclear power for Australia to ensure that we avoid problems down the track such as insufficient power/blackouts and serious shortages for any number of emergency requirements.
