I think Harlee that buying and selling at the same time like that is their way of offloading ( or buying more ) without making the share price fluctuate too much.
Buying gives the impression that the sp is going up, that then brings in other buyers. The insto then just sells down more than what they have bought in to the new buyers....hence reducing their holdings until the buyers are scared off that the sp can't move upwards.
Us "mum and dad" type investors just have to go with the flow of these big guys :/
