The mystery is, considering the clear verses available, why that is so and based on the Bible, I can only assume it's due to 2 Thes 2:10-11.

Re wonderful Xmas -> yes it was rather a surprise.
The Son, his partner and their 11 yr old son (grandson) went down to Esperance for a camping holiday for around 10 days and supposedly were not going to be home for Xmas.
Well, it turns out we were set up, at around 11:30 am, their little dog which we were baby sitting, started barking and carrying on like all sorts at the front door.
And Lo and Behold, through the glass panels etc, you could see them -> surprise.

It threw things out a little, as plans were only made for the wife and I and the Daughter and her 15 yr old Son.
