I hope you keep to the highest ground. I always choose the second flat spot above the creek. yet even that is at risk with the extreme weather that resulted in that camping site being flooded. it would have to be assessed and approved for any managed accreditation and insurance compliance.
as I related: these supercells are popping up all along the eastern coast. they spring up out of nothing. at sea these are described as squalls, but now they're supercells. much more destructive and as @Bananabender1 and others pointed out, warmer air holds more water. so too the dumping of water onto the land.
more than pissing down its dumping down.
