“But let me ask you this question? How would like it if someone else recognised how good the product was and it subsequently sold as many drugs do, for a 300% premium to the prevailing share price, if that?”
Great assessments, reviewing and explanations in relative layman’s terms for the rest of us Ben. About your last paragraph, IMO, the percentage based premiums used for the purposes of offers regarding mergers and acquisitions really don’t do bio-techs any justice whatsoever. IMU is in a market field where the value of their share price is IMO relevant only for trading and immediate investment (buy/hold/sell) purposes. I don’t like using estimated percentages for Bio acquisitions, as it is hoped that if one or more big pharma names are interested they would just use a $ value of the company they are willing to pay based on the drug they wish to use in their plans. If I was the CEO of a major pharmaceutical company and I had billions to spend on securing the holy grail ahead of all competitors to gain a market advantage, I would be pricing the drug, not the MC or SP of the company I wish to acquire. I would not be silly enough to offer a 300% premium to the current SP. In IMU’s case that would only be $2.5B. For anybody to think they could get possibly one of the greatest medical marvels of all time, an all cancer curing drug for just $2.5B they would be kidding themselves.
Though, as @TheAnalyst007 did mention the other day, he believes it possible many here may wish to vote to accept somewhere around 30c. I hope that is not going to transpire. 30cents. Really?
This is why I don’t see this form of pricing formula being used to price IMU. It is why I still believe our SP as depressingly low that it seems to us, will not be too relevant when a big name comes knocking with their wallet open. As you say though, if a premium to the SP is what’s on the cards, then 2024 has to see it rise, because I have a feeling 2024 could be just when IMU’s fate is decided, one way or another. That fate IMO is looking quite promising right now.
Good luck all. Onward.
