This justification is totally rubbish. Tesla, BYD and key Chinese EV manufacturers all experienced record sales in 2023, with Tesla Y taking away the crown of No1 best-selling car from Toyota Corolla, after 34 years at the top. The reason the incumbent car manufacturers have suffered poor EV sales is merely because their products are crap in comparison and five to seven years behind the market leaders.
