Sadly, political survival always trumps rational decision making, BB. A bit of a catch 22 though when it comes to immigration. Easily remedied by being targeted, provided their qualifications are in line with ours - and limited to the availability of infrastructure. On the flipside, one of my young friends is a qualified builder. He can't afford to buy a home here in Oz and our high rents make it impossible to save, so he's moving to rural Canada. I'll look forward to his firsthand comparison of the RE scene there.

can’t buy a house here so he’s moving to Canada and your post gives the indication he doesn’t know the prices over there… yeah great move, plus the air fares, any rentals over there, plenty of work?
