There are a few 'Irons' in the TIVAN fire at the moment including :
Vanadium Electrolyte manufacturing facility - one or multiple with the intent to supply VRFB manufacturing facilities.
Fluorspar - potential shorter term development.
PFS for Speewah Salt Roast facility.
Design/PFS? for CSIRO joint pilot plant/R&D TIVAN+ facility in Darwin.
Sandover Exploration - Lithium, Copper/IOCG?
This was the map below that had me most interested at the AGM.
• The scale of decarbonisation efforts at the IO miners - Port Hedland/Dampier
• The Suncable project at Elliott
• MASDP provision of supply not to mention the work the LNG plants have put into pathways to decarb their operations - yes they produce gas but they also consume a lot of power from gas turbines sets to cool & compress the LNG & a lot goes to countries which have a stake in seeing even fossil fuel supply plants internal own operations decarbonise.
Any one of these with a major partner leading to an offtake would be a game changer - time frames for any of these projects to when they will need the batteries - ie. commit, design, build their solar/wind farms would not be outside of the timelines for the design/permit/build of a sustainable V2O5 supply. I can also see projects like Suncable being an additive process - ie. build it in trains - start with xGW solar, xGWh battery & then add train 2 next year, train 3 the following year etc.
I've had the displeasure today of working on tax returns for the past couple of years & a break even point is not even something I will consider calculating as it is would be too painful to contemplate (real losses + opportunity cost).
That said any where North of 20c would make this exercise a lot more fun this time next year.
28c is my pick - I'd fly to Darwin again for the AGM, this time for a week.
