Unfortunately I thought you were being sarcastic!
To attract the caliber of people you speak of you need money and lots of it. Brainchip is running a tight ship when it comes to cash. So to make up for it they need to issue RSUs or something similar to those top dogs. By stopping these you make it very difficult to get and hold onto the caliber of people you think we need.
Just my thoughts of course. I know nothing about running a business but this makes sense to me.
Just as an example. A guy I know worked for Ebay when the guys who set up afterpay were working there or he worked with them elsewhere i can't remember exactly. Those guys subsequently set up AfterPay and headhunted the guy i know. They told him they couldn't match his salary at eBay but would pay him $xxx and make up the rest in shares. He took a gamble and took the job becoming Afterpays first employee. He is now a millionaire over and over.
My point is. You're giving these people skin in the game as payment so if they do well the company should do well.
