    hi all,

My last post, and I think only my 4th? on the elections,

Well done to Ms Julia Gillard, she is now the elected Prime Minister of Australia. There is no arguement, she has 76 seats.

I don't think she will be there for long before we go back to the pplls...nothing against her, i just don't see this as being a workable Govt.

I think she performed well enough to win and that is all it took.

AS to Tony Abbott, I think he can feel proud of the fight he took up and performed better than expectations. he was so far behind Julia as preferred PM that he should have been slaughtered...but he wasn't, and full credit to him. He was 1 seat away.

I will really miss some of the good commentary on the political thread, from both Libral and Labor voters.

A couple that spring to mind where i enjoyed reading their posts are phillip, Mike, and a few others, but there has been plenty. Even Eagle I thought had some good things to say, I didn't agree with him but he posted good stuff.

I can safely say (as I don't expect to come back here so don't bother replying) is that some of the worst garbage I have read is by the few posters that have knocked Abbott and continue to do so with his "goodby" speech on this thread...they have proved this to me by having a go at what I thought was an excellent and humble closing speech by Abbott...

I'm not going to bother saying who they are....hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

Good luck one and all....going to be interesting times. My bet is an election within 12 months, lets hope Julia can prove me wrong.

    Peace.

    Cheers, Tony.
