Well I think if his BT fund is valued at circa 90k at 31 December 2023 then POG will have outpaced marginally his investment over the same time frame.
If you take into account the NZL gold price, it would have blitzed his BT investment even with distribution reinvestments. Not bad for a non yielding piece of metal.
No wonder he has had a bee under his bonnet for 15 + years.
Skol has just proven yet again that gold is not the worst investment on the planet. I'm not suggesting that gold is or isn't a good investment, I am just commentating on skols specific time frame.
I am not suggesting that his BT investment was good or bad either, just comparing it specifically to statements made by him.
