Ukrainian officials say air defences downed all of the 10 hypersonic missiles fired into the country today.
In a video message this morning, Ukraine's president said more than 100 missiles of various types were fired in Tuesday's large-scale assault (see post at 11.05am).
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least 70 missiles were shot down, with Western-supplied air defence systems saving hundreds of lives.
Now, Ukrainian General Valerii Zaluzhnyi has claimed all 10 Russian Kinzhal missiles were among those downed by air defences.
The missiles can fly at 10 times the speed of sound.
It was the most Kinzhals used by Russia in one attack since the start of the war, air force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said.
Ukraine also downed 59 of the 70 cruise missiles and all three Kalibr cruise missiles, according to General Zaluzhnyi.
But he added: "There is no reason to believe that the enemy will stop here. Therefore, we need more systems and munitions for them."
Earlier, Baltic leaders issued a call for Western allies to do more to bolter Ukraine's air defences in the face of "brutal" airstrikes like the one seen today (see post at 15.02pm).
