I don't dismiss any scripture. You'll have to show where I have gone wrong.
The Bible narrative is symbolic, allegoric, poetic, metaphoric. It begs us to apply logic and reason to tease out the deeper meanings. Remember scripture starts with God, an essence of 100% absolute abstraction whose nature is unknowable.
It then passes through the lens of the likes of Jesus and Moses, etc, is then transcribed into human words and human concepts. It then enters the consciousness of each human or human collectives and is once again coloured by ignorance, prejudice, or wisdom. Certain individuals claim to have superior knowledge and gather flocks of people who then suffer the collective errors of some religious egomaniac, or worse.
But the basis of scripture is a prescription for living collectively with love and reciprocity. Basically heaven on earth, but we are very slow on the uptake.
