If you think that WHC is today receiving $130/t, which is the spot price you keep citing, for the coal it produces and sells, then I've got a nice shiny bridge to sell you."As per the report from the latest quarterly report;
"The gC NEWC (6000 CV) index averaged US$148/t for the September quarter, 8% below the June quarter average of
US$161/t. Whitehaven’s realised thermal price of US$147/t was flat to the gC NEWC index (compared with a 10% premium in
the June 2023 quarter when the proportion of high CV sales was higher)"

So the last quarter they received pretty much spot on the index average. Previously they received a 10% premium. And previous to that it was I think an 8% premium. So yes, the spot price is close to the realised price.

Of course I picked the low? You also picked the peak.

I actually avoided any talk about Climate Change until @hagetaka started spewing mistruths and misinformation, I felt it my duty to correct him time and time again.

Again, I am not here to discuss the economics of Coal. I accept it has a place in society at the moment.

So, let me ask. Do you or do you not accept the science of climate change?

I'll ask this in stages.

1: CO2 in the atmosphere has the ability to trap short wave solar radiation from the sun.
2: CO2 has increased in PPM since the industrial revolution. (Do you accept that CO2 ppm was relatively stable for the last 800,000 years, then shot up since 1750).
3: Human activity is adding to natural carbon flux.

Lets start with that.
