Surely you can't be that ignorant: You are comparing an operating cost for a business that incurs that $110/t cost to produce two products, with the price of just one product, specifically the price of the product whose price is a fraction of the other product.

Now do operating costs of $110/t vs the current coking coal price of $330/t

Works out to a 67% EBITDA margin.
The level about which most CEO's can only dream.

Like I say, correlation is not causation.
Especially not when it comes to dealing with highly complex, non-closed, chaotic chemical and physical systems, is influenced by an inordinate number of variables, some of them certain to be indeterminate.

And, logically, part of that response should be to encourage WHC to produce even more coal, given its vastly superior quality, in order to crowd out other poorer-quality and more polluting coals from places such as Indonesia, Colombia, South Africa and Russia.

I mean, if coal is going to be continue to be in use around the world - which we've established it is - far better it be the less polluting and more regulated variety.
