I am not questioning the scientific research around the single crystal cathodes, Michael, but how long before a commercially viable production process is available and then there is the question as to when the EV manufacturers are willing to adopt it and sell at volume? Vehicle manufacturers are notoriously demanding (and hence slow to uptake) in regard to reliability, performance, safety and economics. In the meantime, alternative battery technologies continue to be advanced, including but not restricted to solid state batteries, which have a number of superior characteristics over Li based batteries using liquid electrolytes, and into which much research and development is being placed.
