Companies can regulate themselves. Take EDV just today for example, firing their CEO for misconduct. It is not in a companies best interest to deceive shareholders. They can try, but lies built upon lies is a hard structure to maintain and investors will boycot you hard, for they are not in the business of pity but self-interest. I'd trust a company word more than a regulator hands down. Take a look in the room you're in. Name a product you own produced by a regulator
