CDP stands for Commercial Demonstration Plant, so to demonstrate that the plant can run on either fuel would be a nice advantage from a sales point of view. It would also provide capacity for higher output. After Hazer obtained the ARENA grant they also decided to add an electrolyser to demonstrate that the hydrogen produced could be used to create electricity for other uses like powering the plant as an alternative to using connected renewable power., so why not add dual fuel. It's not a particularly important point because methane is methane, no matter its source. But they did say "natural gas" not methane.
