ANSTO will receive $13.9 million to support research on the discovery, extraction, and processing of rare earth elements as byproducts of other mining activities.

Geoscience Australia will receive $2.7 million for research focused on local production of gallium, germanium, and indium, which can be extracted as byproducts from bauxite mining.

Given Newmont and the multiple commodities i could see it being of interest. Got the REE plus ANSTO doing the leaching studies goes hand in hand. Local production of Gallium which is in Newmont and throw in the Titanium Scandium and HPA. If government funding keeps up for critical minerals and for local production, refining etc WC could be a prime candidate for such funding.
