That's untrue what you say about NSW.

Under the Liberal-Nationals Coalition, it managed to limit the increase in unproductive administrative public service "workers" (one uses the term advisedly) to a much lower percentage than occurred in Victoria or Queensland under socialist Labor State Governments.

If it want to see a state that's going backwards fast, come down south to Victoria.

A massive State debt that's increasing, and higher than that of NSW, Queensland and Tasmania combined, numerous road and rail/level crossings infrastructure projects that are out of control costs wise (and way over Budget - two examples are road's North East Link and rail's 'Melbourne Metro' (not really a 'metro' - it's a suburban railway in a nine kilometre tunnel.

In Victoria, we've also seen 120 changes to retail tenancies that have seen investors fleeing, plus recent huge rises in land taxes.

Your claim that free markets don't exist is fanciful. To take one example, in Victoria since the Liberal-Nationals government of 1992-1999 deregulated the sector, there's been a large number of competitors vying for residential and business custom. At the generating level, as Rickmajiks asserts, 'big solar and wind' have however pushed up the cost of retail electricity for householders and businesses alike. Plus the socialist (some would say communist) Victorian state government has banned new natural gas connections to homes effective from 1 January 2024, which is madness. There's a huge amount of onshore gas deposits locked up because the Victorian government won't allow it to be developed.

Sir Henry Bolte, who I am too young to remember and who was a farsighted Liberal Premier of Victoria must be spinning 1000 times an hour in his grave.

In contrast, 11 years of NSW Coalition government left NSW in a better position, including with infrastructure such as the soon to open larger Sydney Metro and road's WestConnex.

Re the airlines, we need politicians to build high speed rail between Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne but so far this isn't occurring despite us having the population to support it.
