The inquiry is a cheap shot at supermarket price gouging is chance for Albo to big note himself I bet the fact that Aldi and Costco do not pay tax in Australia will not be looked at while Coles ,Woolworths and Metcash do.
Calling the inquiry in to price gouging is unfair and looks like they have already found them guilty before the inquiry has started. The super markets have faced rises in wages, steep rises in utilities and cost from transport.
When Coles announced their profit their share price dropped $2 hardly an endorsement of huge profits.Coles earned .76c per share and payed out .66c a share to give a grossed up yield of 5.9 % .
Australians would expect 8% to 10% performance from their super funds yet bitch about supermarkets profits when Coles and Woolworths are not making the grade. What will happen next will the super funds ditch supermarkets because they are not performing, lets address the inequality in company tax first.
