Speaking of cop's Victorian taxpayers are about to pay several million in the latest two cases of cops perverting the course of justice. The first where a female cop shot a guy in his own backyard after a noise complaint and then she lied through her nose about the circumstances. All charges against the victim dropped and the victim now suing the State. The second where two officers arrested a guy for no reason on trumped up charges, all proven because the dumb asses forgot they were being filmed by local CCTV. Again, all charges dropped, and he too is suing.
This kind of thing is happening all over Australia on a daily basis. It's so prevalent that State governments have severely cut funds to the internal policing department to delay cases due to the bulk of litigation from the many aggrieved. I've read that the backlog of bad cops to be dealt with has grown to eyewatering numbers in every State.
There's something severely wrong with the police human resources departments that they are hiring potential crooks as cops and then arming them with guns and the power of the State to commit crimes against innocent people. The only reason a Royal Commission hasn't been called for to deal with bad cops is that States fear a loss of community confidence in the police, which diminishes by the day.
