because he is very worried of backlash from his own electorate sa well that his bias toward labor has been unmasked to the fullest,bet there is more beyond the screen.
i wouldnt rule out that his"refusal"was actually prompted by gillard just not to make bribe that much less damaging to her self as there is no doubt she already has enough on her plate.
