I read that the main reason was because of the rapid development in EV's, their price was going down, and subsequently so was their value as second hand cars. Hertz was losing hundred of millions when it was selling them as second hand cars.
Nothing wrong with the EVs just competition was forcing the price lower and lower. Too successful!!
