I do lots and lots of research on stocks, economics, macro factors, mining methods, etc from a large range of sources and publish it where it is worthwhile, whether I own the stock or not. I have been doing this for many years. Everyone should do their own research but lots if people do not have the time and so do poor research. Most people just listen to a lot of garbage even from so called experts (who are not really experts) and just believe what they are told without validation. Doing detailed research has made me a lot of money on mining stocks and stopped me from losing a lot as well. Not every stock is a winner in fact most lose investors money.

Many company boards and management just try to promote poor results and so many investors fall for it. The devil is in the detail and one needs to review the full announcement in detail not rely on just the highlights promoted by the company CEO. Lots of companies cannot be relied on to provide unbiased views and many seem to want to mislead investors into buying their stock. I read recently that only about 1 in 100 discoveries end up being a producing mine.

Sometimes I publish my research to see what people think and I do learn a lot from other posters but it is from a very limited numbers of posters who know what they are talking about. There are a very small number of excellent posters on HC who provide amazingly good research and knowledge whether they own the stock or not and they give it freely.

If posters want to ignore my research and facts then they can. But I would encourage posters to go and verify my research and views before just rejecting it.

I have noticed a lot of posters in most stocks just seem to fall in love with the stock (CHN is not an exception) without doing any or limited research, despite the evidence being readily available for them to review.
