Downhill at five; I'm seriously impressed. They're beautiful animals, but they're sooooo BIG - especially to a five year old. The old man used to plough with a team of sixteen (yes 16) draughthorses when he was 13 (northern NSW at the time). (We must be about the same age. Are you in HV in QLD, SA or VIC?)

Molasses, cream ... you're pretty handy with the analogies yourself.

It's late afternoon - milking time. The FrieSSNs are about to 'let down'*.

Whatever the analogies, HV, we're on a long journey with this stock. Over time - if we stick with SSN (I'm still 'all in') - we're going to be grazing on a very good paddock.



*'Let down their milk' - for non-farming types who think that the term might reflect a negative assessment. It's wholly productive.
