I can't speak for anyone else but although highly unlikely at this stage I wouldn't be upset taking a $1b takeover offer. Hell I'd probably take $750m to be honest.
I know current project npv is nearly $2b with current copper prices but I reckon between the wait time, general uncertainty about a great many things and the fact realistically capex will probably be closer to $2b rather then the stated $1b I think getting a half decent takeover now could be much better then taking the risk of trying to advance the project.
I have flip flopped on this subject previously but between the lack of drilling upside from our many targets and my general lack of faith in management I would be happy to let some value go if it means getting at least some of it.
