CMC are also going to supply raw materials. I would think this means Metal oxide waste. So Orica will supply the spent acid and CMC the extra oxides to dissolve into it to be converted back to metal. I assume this would be iron at first but remembering the work Auspac did on copper for Inco on the the New Caledonian Nickle mine then there are some very interesting opportunities in linking up with CMC.
I think this is a very smart move as it means Austpac will be able to tap into transport infrastructure and business networks already set up by Orica and CMC. This has been a common theme each time the company has had an agreement, don't re-invent the wheel where there's no need to build your own expertise. This time we have an agreement that will be linked to an operating plant and agreements in place to buy the output. A huge difference. Now to wait for the announcements of first production.
