Guess I asked for that, well served; disappointingly sans humour!
You are correct, it is not a 'game' I have applied myself to. I build stuff that works, pure and simple, and get it sorted for stakeholders, budget and timeliness. The financial aspects underpinning the gamesmanship elements of getting mines up are something I am intermittently surprised by the human foibles around, in various fields. One could be quite scathing in observing the various blatant deceptions involved here too, to no actual avail. That is the past, and now we are looking for 'best endeavours of good people, properly informed'. I will back that, every time.
What we have is a process problem that this thing will float or sink / become mediocre on. I do appreciate that financial aspects can overwhelm even success after initial failure. Having circulated in some of these rarified environs intermittently, and stuck my head into this one specifically, my assessment is that it ain't going down in the way mooted by various commentators. I could be wrong, but there are enough facts on the table, including those seemingly now-so-easily dismissed Dec Ann's, to keep rational optimism alive. Happy to share; hope there comes a day it makes ppl feel better about the machinations of 'fate'!
In the spirit of being accountable for what is actually said, that turdily sledging about 'the team' and 'being gone' is nonsense. Just contemplate both what went right and the ACTUAL improvements over the mess handed from construction when they were way under-staffed on technical support; it is different now. Sure, a couple of guys I knew personally have stuffed up dealing with earlier realities and gone, but I still have them filed in the 'accidental over-reachers' box that ego / greed mishandled and commercial imperatives sealed their fate. Too kind maybe, but you are a long-time dead and adding irrelevant angst before that happens only injures yourself...
