no point of revisiting the whole thing again. brings really bad memories back. will try to make it as short as possible. GOING by memory so I may have few things wrong.

IG dumps 20M shares. ALK does not make timely announcement and ALK's share trade really wild for about 3 hours before the market finds out what is going on.
During Annual Meeting q&a someone asked why IG sold. Nic was to try to offer probably calm response but IG volunteers to answer himself and said something along the lines - they are my shares and I'll do whatever I want with them.

Technically yes, he can do whatever he wants with his shares. But as Chaiman he could have handled the question better. Especially when he knew very well ALK did not provide timely announcement to inform the market of what was going on which triggered really wild trading.
the way he said it and the body language was terrible. like looking down and laughing to a homeless person just because that person said something little bit nasty to you.
Zero class.

Irony was he said (if I remember right) he did not plan to sell more ALK shares in near future and only few days later he sold another roughly 5M shares. If I remember right.
And that killed any potential buyer to bid higher for many months to come. Everyone was waiting for IG to sell more.

hence why I hope he sells the lot.

This time around they did it right. The announcement came out before the market opened and the trading was lot calmer. everyone could make informed decision what to do.

all my own views - others probably saw things very differently.
