I'd be a lot more comfortable if there was concrete progress on getting the plant to nameplate however as we really have no idea what the actually cost of production will be yet. A year ago at 63c,

'Preliminary ramp-up works commenced for continuous lithium carbonate production operations, with full ramp-up phase scheduled during current quarter, and advancing toward steady-state production operations by end of Q2-CY2023'

'Lithium carbonate prices recently trading at US$76,000/t (CIF Asia (spot), Benchmark Mineral Intelligence)'

The SP has since slid down almost in line with the carbonate price but still next to no output. All those staff at the Christmas party might not have a job if they don't get this sorted out soon.

With respect to the sector, I'm more sceptical than ever about anyone (Goldman, Benchmark, Lowry, etc) being able to predict anything in light of all the flip flopping. On a positive note, one temporary source of supply that will eventually disappear is the destocking which is coming down.
