Outside of property, what asset inflation? The XJO was 6700ish in 2007, it's 7500 now, just over 10% in a bit over 15 years, that's not even kept up with inflation. And that is besides the point anyway, there would be plenty of families in the top bracket on a single income who don't have the spare money to invest after mortgage payments, private school fees(saving the tax payer a LOT) etc etc

As demonstrated by Canavan, the top bracket should be at least $250k now, Albo playing the politics of envy card, it'll bite him on the bum imo, I don't think Australians on average as jealous numpties, I think there's still the aspirational spirit in this country
