You have been in a backwater most of your life then and that is borne out by living in country WA and being in the armed forces. Nothing wrong with any of that...Lived in Perth myself for 4 years and loved it still do. What is a conservative era by your definition and stated with some distaste it seems. Australia shifted from a British centric domain to a more American centric nation as we moved into the 80's. Looking at life generally the 60's are not seen as a conservative era. Some may still hanker for these times but it would be a very low percentage of the population..even those over 60 like myself. So I say again you are full of BS and a twat to boot. As for having an armed forces background...well let us say I hope you followed your orders as you do not come across as a leader.
