There was a solution, back in March/April 2022. Where Russia offered to stop the invasion.

As per a current high-level Ukrainian government official, who took part in March/April 2022 Russia-Ukraine negotiations (David Arakhamia), the main thing that Russia was asking for was for Ukraine to remain neutral and not aligned with NATO. In exchange Russia offered a few things, including withdrawing it's troops from territories it took after February 2022.

These negotiations were sabotaged by Western leaders, that encouraged Zel to keep fighting, promising infinite support, feeding him bad intel regarding the state of Russian forces.

And here we are now. Almost two years later. Over half a million Ukrainians dead or seriously injured. Millions have fled. Infrastructure in shambles. Economy in ruins. What was once thought of as a "young democracy" is turning more and more authoritarian (as per current Kyiv mayor Klitschko).

I really hope that you're happy with the results tangs.
