Sh1t happens when instead of negotiation for peace (March/April 2022) where the only request is for your country not to join NATO, you decide to fight on, believing you will win against a country 3-4 times your size population wise, that has an abundance of resources and manufacturing capabilities.
If Zel chose to go through with the March/April 2022 negotiations, it would have not lost any more territory. It wouldn't have lost hundreds of thousands of lives. If wouldn't have lost millions in population that's fleeing all over the place. It wouldn't have lost some of its land and assets to corporations such as Blackrock, JP Morgan, Monsanto. It wouldn't have lost control of its economy (which is now dependent on US/EU handouts).
Zel did really well "protecting" his country and his people.. I mean really well..
