General but off theme. I was trying to put some perspective on the influence of graphite on the total cost of an EV. Current replacement cost for a battery pack around $17,000 AUD (?) but they last up to 20 years? More than I expected. Most of the cost is with the cathode 50% and Manufacturing and Depreciation 24%. Anode 12%, separaton 7%, electrolyte 4% and battery housing 3%. Of the Anode, graphite content is 50-100kg. Let's say 100kg. At $600-800 per tonne we're talking $60-80 USD per battery. Of course you have to process it further which adds to the cost significantly. Point is for me the raw price of graphite could be much higher and not really affect the overall cost of the EV or battery. SYR should not be shy in haggling a premium ex China price IMO. Perhaps I'm missing something so another perspective welcome.
